Norfolk Lavender was established in 1936 and is now a global international provider of Lavender based products. With over 70 Employees and a client base of almost 1 million the IT infrastructure was mission critical as the Internet and telephone orders increased.

Uptech Solution: Outsourced IT department working with Internal IT Team

Uptech deployed a Business Server solution providing a file storage and e-mail facility at the head office. It provided central storage for all company data making it auditable and manageable. Users at the site noticed increased efficiency and were amazed at how much time they were saving just by having a computer network. Network faxing and desktop e-mail speeded up communication and allowed people to respond when they were able to. The calendar resolved the diary sharing issue and the Financial Director had a control on IT spending across the organisation. Uptech’s reporting technology keeps everyone up to speed as to where the system is and provides the tools for Uptech to continue to improve business efficiencies.

Broadband allowed for remote access at all sites allowing the whole process of communication to be revolutionised between branches with the additional benefit of enabling management to work remotely from wherever they happened to be located.

All software licensing concerns had been resolved through centralised management provided by Uptech. A tape backup solution was deployed and Uptech managed the backup procedure to ensure this was being done. Uptech now support the whole company’s network and IT infrastructure and will continue to do so for the longevity of the business.
