Do you have any of your staff working remotely? This is really important for you to get on top off.

Having members of your team working remotely or on a hybrid basis is now pretty normal. In fact it can be really important for the retention of staff and attracting new members to the team.

A recent survey has uncovered, that since so many of us were forced to go and work from home two years ago, far too many businesses have to go the right cyber security in place for those working remotely.

When the survey was started the intention was to learn about budgets and spending roadmaps for next year. But the worrying results highlighted just how few businesses have invested in the right tools to protect their business.

During the Pandemic, cyber security threats, such as Ransomware, Malware and Data Breaches, have all risen sharply. threat actors, the new name for cyber criminals, took advantage of the panic, and have continued to develop and increase their tactics.

The cost to businesses across the world is in the billions, that’s with out the cost of excessive downtime.

The survey did demonstrate that nearly two thirds have good web security in place, such as malware filters, some of the results were more alarming. Only 50% of Businesses have cloud based cyber security setups. (another 15% are looking into this)

Cloud Security adds multiple layers of protection across your network and infrastructure, and gives your data a better shield from threats. this is not just good protection its also finds attacks before they can happen.

10% of businesses are planning to roll out access management controls, which makes sure only the right people can access the parts they need to see. An extra 9% are putting in VPNs (Virtual Private Network) to give remote users a secure access point. Zero trust solutions are being looked at heavily, as they treat every device or connection as a threat, until they are told otherwise and its proven.

Our advice is that all of these solutions shoudl already be in place, and most of our clients have them in place. its even more important with remote and hybrid workers.
